For nearly four decades, Tom has served many national and international
clients helping to launch brands, reinvent companies and support client needs with a full mix of design and advertising media. He is an award-winning art director, writer and positioning strategist. Prior to forming StimulusBrand, Tom was a Managing Partner and Executive Creative Director for 16 years at Gillespie Advertising in Lawrenceville, NJ. There he provided creative development, strategic direction and integrated communications for clients of this McCann Erickson division. Tom helped Gillespie grow from approximately 20 employees and annual billings of $2.7 million to 170 employees and $170 million in annual billings.
Earlier, Tom worked for five years as an Art Director with Bozell & Jacobs, Inc.,
a national advertising firm. Among many accomplishments there, Tom was a creative team art director that developed the original “NJ & YOU – PERFECT TOGETHER” advertising campaign that featured Governor Tom Kean and celebrities such as Bill Cosby, Brooke Shields and Ben Vereen.
More recently, Tom’s branding work has supported the marketing needs and success of MMS Education, Prudential Mortgage Capital Company, The US Department of Agriculture, Smug Brewing Company, Philadelphia Insurance Companies, iXP Corporation, Brown & Brown, Mid-Sate Lumber,and many others.
As a leader, Tom always has his eye on the big picture. He is an artist, writer, musician and a creative thinker 24/7. A creative perfectionist, Tom repeatedly noodles, nudges, tucks, and tweaks the details. Every assignment begins with Tom‘s vision in thumbnail sketches which truly are the size of his thumbnail. He sees what no one else can.
Having grown up in a family of nine children, Tom is a seasoned competitor. In his youth, he could be found in the trenches on the gridiron or on any nearby hardwood court. He cheers voraciously for his PC Friars basketball and Ice Hockey teams. He can be spotted regularly at 6am in his local gym or every now and then, behind the drums jammin to Blues, Classic rock, or Motown favs.
Tom is all about knowing your customers and what moves them, discovering the truth of your brand, and then building a program that elevates your product with impact and consistency and stimulates people to action.
